‘The Playground’

Nothing beats a playground. Personally, if it was still socially expectable to go
and play in a sandpit I certainly would. The show is a nod to childhood nostalgia.

The playground is a safe haven for all our learnings and mistakes during childhood.
With specific rhetoric and a connection to childhood,a playground simultaneously
mentions the idea of growing up, while in turn hoping that we never do. The objects
showcased in the exhibition explicitly derive from both the good and bad of the
playground, with each individual artist drawing on their own unique experiences
from separate childhoods where somewhat similar experiences appear omnipresent.

Whether these past memories are filled with joy or are ones we wish to forget, the
exhibition takes a journey into the burrow of the playground.
